Research

Cricket Match Outcome Prediction Using Machine Learning

Machine learning research
  • Conducted supervised machine learning research to predict match winners and score outcomes in The Hundred cricket league using multi-year match, player, team, and ball-by-ball data.
  • Implemented and evaluated Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting models, demonstrating strong generalization performance for match outcome and score forecasting.

Seasonal Price Forecasting of Agricultural Commodities in Nepal

Time-series analysis
  • Analyzed long-term seasonal price behavior of agricultural commodities in Nepal using daily wholesale price data from Kalimati Tarkari Bazaar spanning 2013–2023.
  • Applied Facebook Prophet, STL decomposition, logistic regression, and K-means clustering to identify seasonal patterns, price volatility, and future price trends across six Nepali seasons.
  • Identified strong seasonal dependencies with peak prices during winter (Hemanta) and lower prices during monsoon (Barsha), and achieved moderate forecasting performance with Prophet (average MAE 32.95, R2 0.42).

About

I work on the backend. Most of what I enjoy sits behind the interface: designing services, drawing the boundaries between them, deciding what a database should actually be responsible for, and making the whole thing observable enough that a failure tells you where it came from.

Lately that means AI-native development, treating models as another component in a system rather than the product itself, plus a steady interest in system design, microservices and distributed systems: replication, consistency, and what a service does when its neighbour disappears.

Outside paid work I spend time on developer tooling and infrastructure, and on the technical side of community events with Nepal Open Source Klub.
